Riding Bike for Ride and Exercise

⊆ 8:07 PM by Sweetiepink-couture | ˜ 0 comments »

Most active people own or have owned a bicycle at one time. Unfortunately, a good percentage keep their bicycles at home, and seldom take it out for a ride.

Bicycling is a fun way to exercise and it does not take too long to do. In fact you can even bicycle to work, if it is not to far instead of going by car. There are many small errands you can do to by bicycling instead of taking your car. You will be able to exercise this way and stay fit.

Cycling in any city, one must use common sense and look out for dangers:

Here are the Precautions need to be taken whilst cycling:

  • Firstly, definitely wear a helmet at all times. It is safer to bicycle in bright places compared to dark places, or when it rains.
  • Watch out for traffic, open manholes and uncovered grills. The uneven roads may not affect cars but has a big impact on bicycles.
  • One should be confident in handling the bicycle, has good balance, can apply brakes or change gears effortlessly. "You must focus on the road and not try to master the bicycle".
  • Traffic Awareness must also be good "You should know the rules.Generally avoid roads with high speed cars or where fast motorcycles overtake each other".
The Benefits of Cycling:

  • Firstly cycling is a great way to exercise, and help utilise your muscles. Out door bicycling is fun and good in many ways. You not only get to work out your muscles but can get fresh air as well. You can go for long or short bicycle rides. It is advisable to start small and work up to avoid sore muscles .
  • Always remember to drink plenty of water to prevent hydration which can casues exhaustion and muscle aches.
  • When you bicycle for exercise you use most of your muscles and improve your blood circulation which makes a complete workout. When your blood circulations improves, it will help get rid of toxins from your body.
  • You can have fun and improve your overall health as well when you cycle. You can join clubs and go for trips and tours togeter. Or if you are short on time you can just bicycle for a short amount of time everday.
  • Cycling 20 minutes a day will keep you fit and healthy. It is not really much time when you think about it, considering it will reward you with a lifetime of good health by fitness.

Here are 6 things every bike could use:

No matter what type of bike you have or what type of riding you are doing, here are six things you will need to make your bicycling fun and safe:

  1. The first thing is have a water bottle and a frame to hold it. Riding a bicycle is strenuous training and your body needs hydration to be able to safetly train. Even a quick 1/2 hour ride can be too long without water if you are spinning hard enough.
  2. The second thing that every bicycle needs is a frame mounted pump. You should get a pump that is appropriate for your bicycle valve type. Nothing is worse than getting a flat on the road without the tools to fix it.
  3. The third thing every cyclist needs to have is plenty of chain lubricant. Your chain will get dry often and a dry chain does not work as well. A dry chain squeaks and annoys everyone. It also causes wear and tear. Go to the bicycle shop, and purchase a lube, and use it often.
  4. A Flat Repair Kit: You should not leave home without one of these unless you like walking long distances home. They have flat repair kits that fit into pockets. Nowadys there is not reason to be riding around without one.
  5. Make sure the handlebar, seat and pedals are securely attached to the frame ot the bicycle to make it steer well.
  6. Make sure the seat is good and tight and the pedals are in good condition. Check your pedals on a regular basis.
